Rebar Grid Calculator
Count the bars for a square grid in a slab, both ways. You get linear feet, 20 ft sticks, and weight.
Estimate only. Rebar size, spacing, laps, and cover come from the structural drawings. This is only a takeoff check.

How the math works
Bars each way = floor((side - 2 x cover) / spacing) + 1
Bar length = other side - 2 x cover
Linear ft = (bars long way x their length) + (bars short way x their length)
With waste = linear ft x (1 + waste% / 100)
Weight = linear ft x lb per ft Sticks = linear ft / 20, rounded upWeights per foot are the standard nominal weights for US rebar: #3 0.376, #4 0.668, #5 1.043, #6 1.502 lb/ft. The waste % is a stand-in for lap splices. Real lap lengths depend on bar size and the engineer's specs.
